An account of one of the lesser-known revivals of Wales in the nineteenth century. Beddgelert is well known for its natural beauty, but between 1817-1822 it was visited and talked about not because of its scenery, but because of a moving of God's Spirit, which had a lasting influence on Beddgelert, the surrounding area and other parts of Wales. Beginning at the whitewashed buildings of Hafod-y-llan farm this revival drove people to the Bible as the pathway to God and resulted in an emphasis on preaching and a desire to instruct children in the Word of God. This revival is reported to have had a mysterious accompaniment, a certain indescribable 'music in the air'. Dr Davies retells the story of this revival, clarifies a number of points, places it in its historical context and presents a fresh assessment of this work of grace.
